GENERAL MERCHANDISE MANAGER ASIA – SHANGHAI

Lead the operational management of our client’s Far East liaison office. Ensure that targets and business plans are completed within budget and in line with the company strategy. Responsible for regional supplier management and sourcing management.
Managing and coaching employees, conducting performance interviews and assessment in order to developed individual team members, improve team performance and achieve the team goals within the set timeframe and budget.

De Functie

Lead the operational management of our client’s Far East liaison office. Ensure that targets and business plans are completed within budget and in line with the company strategy. Responsible for regional supplier management and sourcing management.

Offering local market intelligence and support direct sourcing of various product categories. Apparel, Home Textiles, Accessories, Hard goods (Home Decor, Household, office etc)

Providing leadership and management to the business and fully responsible for the day to day running of all the departments incl Merchandising, Quality, CSR, Finance and Human resources.

Lead and coach the local team in sourcing activities that may include vendor selections, product development, negotiations, contracting and process excellence.

Maintain active communication flow with HQ NL (HO), align with organizational strategy, and ensure adherence to compliance & guidelines.

Managing and coaching employees, conducting performance interviews and assessment in order to developed individual team members, improve team performance and achieve the team goals within the set timeframe and budget.

Report to sourcing & procurement director Asia.

What we expect from you:

  • HBO/HTS/University degree
  • Leadership experience > 5 yrs
